Burnin it up

What a day! We had 54 solo riders and 10 teams come out to brave some pretty oppressive conditions at Panther Creek State Park. After 2 "cool" laps in the 80s, the temperatures quickly spiked into the mid to upper 90s for most of the day. A cloudless sky made for tough times on the open sections of the course with the sun beating down. But everyone toughed it out and over 3000 combined miles were ridden.

Thanks to everyone who came out, I hope you enjoyed it. We'll be looking to make it even better for next year, so feel free to send your comments, suggestions, or complaints.

Almost Time!

The Disc Burner is swiftly approaching, and it looks like its shaping up to be a great race. Weather forecasts show an almost perfect day, and the trails are in the best condition they've been in all year.

If you haven't registered yet, online registration is available through midnight eastern time on Thursday, June 05th. Day of registration is available for an extra $10 Solo/$20 Team. (Cash or Check only). If possible, try to register by wednesday so we can make sure to have enough food for you. Dinner tickets for spectators will be available for $15, and include dinner, beer, and pint glass. Please email and let us know a tally if you need dinner tickets to help with making sure we have enough food.

Feel free to bring the whole family, as camping is free on Friday and Saturday, and the pool and other park facilities will be open as well. The park has alot of great day hikes and some beautiful views if they need a break from watching people ride bikes in circles. For more information about what the park has to offer, check out their website.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at DiscBurnerMTB@gmail.com

See you at the race!

Schedule

The 12 hour race will run from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm and will begin with a Lemans start. Laps started before 9:00 pm will be counted. [But that doesn't mean you can't start one afterwards anyways if you really want to... Unofficial results are still results, right?]

The 6 hour race will run from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, and laps started before 3:00 pm will be counted. Awards for the 6 Hour will be held shortly after all riders finish (~4:00, 4:30). Dinner will be served shortly after the 6 Hour awards.

Check in and registration will go from 7:00 am until 8:30 am. A mandatory pre-race meeting will be held at 8:45 am at the start/finish.

The start/finish will be at the group camp area.
